The Infinite Monkey Generator is a simulation of the infinite monkey theorem. The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare. The generator allows the user to plug in a line of Shakespeare, or any word(s) they’d like, and watch as random strings of letters are generated. The application continues to generate a series of completely random letters until the user’s selected word has been stumbled upon, at which point the application will stop and let the user know the word has been found. Note: if you select a high speed it may slow down your machine. words longer than 4 letters long can take a very long time to generate randomly.
My word, “okay”, took 347,679 characters before it was randomly generated in all its glory.

In its first implementation, the Flyfire project sets out to explore the capabilities of this display system by using a large number of self-organizing micro helicopters. Each helicopter contains small LEDs and acts as a smart pixel. Through precisely controlled movements, the helicopters perform elaborate and synchronized motions and form an elastic display surface for any desired scenario.
Defining the Process
Concept
Clearly define the purpose of the site. Who is the audience? What is the character, message, feel?
Content
What type of information is being conveyed and how. How will the data be structured, stored, and accessed? How will it be organized, tagged, and navigated?
Wireframing
Develop the layout of the site. Determine what types of pages there will be: feature, index, directory, form, search. Create page elements: header, footer, sidebar, navigation.
Visuals
What is this thing going to look like? Decide on colors, fonts, imagery. How does the concept influence the style? Is there a feeling or mood you are trying to create?
Behavior
How is the site navigated? How does the user interact with the site? Are there messages, forms, and feedback? Is the there motion, transitions, animations?
Tools
What is the server and database setup? Generate HTML, CSS, and scripts. What is the content management system? Setup your URLs, directory structure, and development environment.
Deploy
Feedback
How is the site being used? Study the analytics data. Is the site achieving its purpose?
Iterate
The real stand out in this video is the poem by Taylor Mali.
Wu-Note Project
A great concept artfully executed: Wu-Tang albums covers re-envisioned in the style of old Blue Note jazz records. The designer, Logan Walters, also has a ton of great work at his personal website.

Experimental typography for SIAD 09 degree show designed using Processing The word output was explored through distortion and noise levels. 3D versions were created in the digital fabrication workshop using a CNC milling machine. Letterforms were cut from wooden blocks, sanded, then reproduced as vacuum forms to be distributed at the shows opening night.
The League of Moveable Type - Raleway
Raleway is an elegant sans-serif typeface, designed in a single thin weight. It is a display face that features both old style and lining numerals, as well as a stylistic alternate inspired by more geometric sans-serif typefaces than it’s neo-grotesque inspired default character set.
Great work by Montreal based graphic designer, Julien Vallée.
I try to get in touch with every aspect of the environnement. I like to use manual art well endorsed by the various technological tools available in order to make the bridge between manual and virtual art.
See more at his site, dansedance.
Flaunt: Designing effective, compelling and memorable portfolios of creative work
Beautifully, designed and printed, Flaunt looks to be a great resource for young designers.
